Shrek 2

In Shrek 2, Shrek and Fiona are back from their honeymoon, ready to enjoy their happily ever after—or so they think. Out of the blue, an invitation arrives from Fiona’s parents, the King and Queen of Far Far Away, who have no idea that their daughter is now an ogre. Shrek’s less-than-thrilled, but off they go with Donkey tagging along for the ride. Things get awkward real fast when the royal family discovers their new son-in-law isn’t exactly prince material. And to add to the chaos, the Fairy Godmother has her own plans for Fiona, along with her son, Prince Charming, who believes he’s the rightful one to win her heart.

As the tension escalates, Shrek tries to fit into Fiona’s world but feels out of place. To “fix” everything, he takes a potion that promises to solve all his problems, leading to even more crazy misadventures. Meanwhile, Donkey’s turned into a majestic stallion, and Puss in Boots, a fierce little cat with a big attitude (and even bigger eyes), joins the crew to help save the day. Between enchanted castles, sneaky plots, and some laugh-out-loud moments, Shrek and company navigate the magical land in a wild journey full of twists and laughs.

Shrek the Third

In Shrek the Third, Shrek’s peaceful swamp life is about to get a whole lot more complicated. After the events of Shrek 2, things have somewhat settled down—until King Harold, Fiona’s father, falls ill and everyone assumes Shrek will step up as king of Far Far Away. But Shrek, king? Yeah, that’s not happening. Terrified of royal duties and just wanting his quiet swamp back, Shrek sets out on a mission to find the one person who can take his place: Fiona’s long-lost cousin, a teenager named Arthur. Of course, Donkey and Puss in Boots join in for the adventure, adding their own ridiculous flair to the chaos.

While Shrek’s off trying to avoid the throne, Prince Charming is cooking up his own plot for revenge. Charming, still upset from losing out on Fiona, gathers all the fairy-tale villains in a not-so-charming attempt to take over Far Far Away. Meanwhile, Shrek’s quest to find Arthur isn’t exactly smooth sailing either. Arthur turns out to be a bit of a scrawny misfit, and convincing him to become king is no easy task. Between awkward royal encounters, hilarious hijinks, and Shrek’s rising panic about the future, this quest is anything but a fairy-tale walk in the park.

Shrek Forever After

In Shrek Forever After, Shrek is feeling the weight of his new life—no more fearsome ogre, just a family man constantly surrounded by diapers and daily routines. He misses the days when villagers ran from him in terror instead of asking for autographs at kids’ birthday parties. Overwhelmed and frustrated, Shrek crosses paths with the sneaky, smooth-talking Rumpelstiltskin, who offers him a deal: one day as a real ogre again, in exchange for just one day from Shrek’s past. Sounds easy, right? Well, nothing’s ever simple with Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek finds himself trapped in an alternate reality where everything’s upside down—Fiona doesn’t recognize him, his friends are rebels, and Far Far Away is under Rumpel’s rule.

Now, Shrek’s got to undo the chaos he caused. With Donkey and Puss in Boots by his side—well, Puss is more “pudgy housecat” than “fearless swordsman” in this timeline—Shrek races against time to set things right. In this strange, twisted world, Shrek faces his biggest challenge yet: winning back the life he didn’t realize he took for granted. The question is, will he manage to make everything go back to the way it was before?

Puss in Boots

In the original Puss in Boots film, our favorite swashbuckling feline from the Shrek universe finally gets his time in the spotlight. Several years before he met Shrek and became a beloved sidekick, Puss was a notorious outlaw, wanted for his daring escapades and slippery charm. His latest adventure? A quest to find the legendary magic beans, which can lead him to the ultimate treasure—the Golden Goose. But Puss can’t do it alone. Along for the ride are his childhood friend-turned-rival, Humpty Dumpty (who’s still holding a grudge), and the sly, smooth-talking Kitty Softpaws, who might just be as skilled as Puss himself.

As Puss tries to clear his name and make amends for a past mistake, he faces wild chases, close calls, and more double-crosses than you can count. The stakes are high, the treasure is tantalizing, and the banter is top-notch as these three unlikely companions battle their way through dangerous territory. But with Puss’s charm, agility, and a lot of feline confidence, anything seems possible—even for a cat with nine lives.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

In Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the legendary cat is back, but this time he’s facing something even his nine lives can’t outrun—he’s down to his last one. After a series of daring and reckless adventures, Puss realizes he’s burned through eight of his nine lives, leaving him vulnerable for the first time. Determined not to hang up his boots just yet, Puss sets off on a dangerous quest to find the mythical Last Wish, which has the power to restore his lost lives.

Joined once again by the cunning Kitty Softpaws and a scrappy new companion, Perrito, Puss must navigate a treacherous path filled with enemies from his past and new foes determined to claim the wish for themselves. With every step, the stakes grow higher, and Puss must face his fears head-on. Time is running out, and the fearless feline will need every ounce of his wit, agility, and heart to make it through this epic final adventure.

And there they are, folks, all Puss in Boots movies in chronological order, starting with his very first appearance in Shrek 2 to The Last Wish, released in 2022.
