Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is a live-action remake of the classic Disney animated film. It follows the story of Belle, a bright and independent young woman who lives in a small village.
When her father is imprisoned by a fearsome Beast in a mysterious castle, Belle volunteers to take his place. Inside the enchanted castle, she discovers a world filled with talking objects that were once the prince’s servants, and a Beast who isn’t as monstrous as he appears.
The Beast, once a handsome prince, is under a spell that has turned him into his current form. The enchantress who cast the spell left him with a magical rose; if he doesn’t learn to love and be loved in return before the last petal falls, he will remain a Beast forever. As Belle spends time with the Beast and his enchanted servants, she begins to see beyond his rough exterior.
Meanwhile, Gaston, a vain and arrogant hunter from Belle’s village, becomes obsessed with marrying her and will do anything to achieve his goal, even if it means causing trouble for Belle and the Beast. The story unfolds as Belle and the Beast grow closer, and Gaston’s schemes threaten their budding relationship.
Enchanted
In the 2007 movie “Enchanted,” we meet Giselle, a sweet and optimistic young woman living in the magical animated land of Andalasia, and dreams of meeting her true love. She quickly meets Prince Edward, and they decide to get married. However, on their wedding day, Edward’s evil stepmother, Queen Narissa, fears losing her throne and banishes Giselle to the real world.
Landing in New York City, Giselle’s innocent and optimistic outlook clashes with the city’s fast-paced reality where everything is strange and confusing compared to her fairy tale home.
She meets Robert, a divorce lawyer who reluctantly helps her navigate her new surroundings, and allows her stay with him and his young daughter, Morgan.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward arrives in New York to rescue Giselle, with Queen Narissa’s henchman, Nathaniel, secretly following to stop him.
As Giselle tries to find her way back to Andalasia, she learns about love, friendship, and the complexities of the modern world.
Cinderella
Once again, similar to A Cinderella Story, Cinderella 2015 is a direct live-action remake of the original film from 1950, and from Disney themselves.
The story follows Ella, a kind-hearted young woman who lives a miserable life after her mother passes away and her father remarries, bringing home a new stepmother and two stepsisters. Sadly, Ella’s father dies soon after, leaving her in the care of her cruel stepmother and selfish stepsisters, who force her to work as a servant in her own home. Despite this, Ella remains kind and hopeful.
One day, while riding in the forest, Ella meets a charming prince who is disguised as a simple apprentice. They feel an instant connection, but part ways without learning each other’s true identities. Later, the King announces a grand ball to find a bride for the Prince. Ella dreams of attending but is forbidden by her stepmother, who destroys her dress.
Just when all seems lost, Ella’s fairy godmother appears and magically transforms her rags into a beautiful gown, complete with glass slippers, and creates a carriage from a pumpkin. She warns Ella that the magic will only last until midnight.
At the ball, Ella captivates everyone, especially the Prince, who is thrilled to see her again. They share a magical evening, but as midnight approaches, Ella must leave quickly, losing one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace. The Prince is determined to find her, using the slipper as a clue.
The story follows his quest to find Ella and the challenges she faces as she tries to reunite with her true love.
